The Twosies had a wonderful, wacky, WET time at Field Day this year! We loved the inflatables and we loved soaking each other any chance we got! Thankfully, the weather was great and the kiddos were on their best behavior!! Be sure to check out the time lapse videos at the bottom!

{Breaking News- Natural Disasters}

The Twosies worked so hard researching and producing news reports 

on Natural Disasters!

Each groups of students wrote a script that included the following information about their natural disaster:

Name

Place the disaster is likely to occur

Description of the disaster

How it forms

How it is measured

Effects of the disaster

Most devastating disaster of it's type in history

We used a Green Screen App called Veescope Live for this project. The students chose a weather map of their natural disaster location and a video clip of their natural disaster to insert as a background.

Our Field Trip began at the Petting Zoo.

We saw cows, goats, rabbits, chickens, parakeets, peacocks, two-week-old chicks, and a donkey.

 

 

 We jumped on the giant pillow...

Learned about the life cycle of a strawberry...

And picked ripe, red strawberries!

"These are the best strawberries I've ever tasted!"

 

{Second Grade Shops}

To demonstrate our learning about producers and consumers; goods and services; scarcity; and supply and demand, Second Grade participated in an activity called "Second Grade Shops". For this activity, each group had to conduct a business meeting in which they established a name for their shop and determined if their shop would provide a good or a service. They then had to determine how they would secure any supplies that they would need and had to come up with a price list. 

Their shops were open for two days. After the first day, many students became aware of things that they could do to better their shop. Some groups changed location, some changed prices, and some even offered incentives to ensure that more goods or services were sold. 

Each student was given 10 tickets to spend, so they had to make wise decisions to ensure that they got to experience all they wanted to experience!

It was so much fun and such a great learning opportunity!
